LIT City is RIP City with a higher RTP. Is LIT City the same game as RIP City?

Mechanically, yes. We compared the official game info screens of both slots and found no gameplay difference at all. Both are 5x5 games with 19 fixed paylines and a 12,500x max win that can land in the base game or either bonus.

The features are word-for-word identical. Wild Cat symbols expand downward when the expansion completes a win. A Wild Cat that expands through a WILD symbol turns into a multiplier on the whole column, between 2x and 200x, and several multipliers in one win are added together before they apply. Three FS scatters trigger the Ro$$ Bonus with 10 free spins and better wild odds. Four scatters trigger the Maxx Bonus, where an activated reel guarantees a Wild Cat on every remaining spin.

Even the symbol payouts match exactly, from the card royals up to the 50x wild. The only visible differences are the name and the paint job: RIP City glows yellow, LIT City glows red.

What is the RTP difference?

The base game gap is 1.21 percentage points, and the bonus-buy gap is even wider. On the Maxx buy, LIT City returns 97.53% against RIP City's 96.41%.

To put 97.43% in context: most modern bonus-buy slots publish around 96%, and plenty of casinos run reduced configurations below that. A bonus-buy slot where every purchase option pays back above 97% is genuinely rare.

Why would Hacksaw release the same game twice?

Casino-first releases. Stake gets a version of a proven hit with a better paytable, players get a reason to play it there, and the higher RTP is the marketing. Hacksaw has run early-access windows with Stake before, and those games often reach other casinos later, though some stay put.
