How Plinko actually works
A ball drops onto a triangle of pegs. At every row it goes left or right with an even chance, and after the last row it lands in one of the buckets along the bottom. Each bucket pays a set multiplier of your stake.
That is the whole game. There is no physics engine deciding anything in the real version either: the casino picks the sequence of left and right turns first, then animates a ball along it. This simulator does the same, which is why the numbers here line up with the numbers there.
What are the odds of each bucket?
This is the part almost nobody publishes. Because every row is a coin flip, the chance of landing in a bucket follows the binomial distribution. On a 16-row board there are 65,536 possible paths, and only one of them goes hard left every single time.

Both edges together give you 0.0031% on 16 rows. Fewer rows make the top multiplier far more common, and far smaller.

Does the risk setting change your return?
No, and this trips up almost everyone. All three tables return about 99% over the long run. High risk simply takes money out of the middle buckets and piles it onto the edges, so you lose small far more often and win big far more rarely. The average is unchanged. Pick the one whose swings you enjoy, not the one you think pays more.
What is the RTP of Plinko, and why am I down?
The RTP is 99% on every setting, which is a 1% house edge. That is unusually generous next to slots, which typically run 94 to 97%. But 99% is a LONG-run average, and on Plinko the long run is far longer than most people assume.
The reason is that the return leans on the rare edge buckets. On high risk with 16 rows, the 1000x lands once in 65,536 drops and the 130x once in 4,096. Until you have hit those roughly as often as the maths says you should, your own return sits below 99%. That is not the game being broken, it is the shape of the game.

That last column is how many drops it takes before your own return is usually within one point of the table figure. On high risk it is hundreds of thousands. So a few hundred drops finishing down is completely ordinary: on high risk over 800 drops, one standard deviation is about 186 units, meaning a swing of a couple of hundred either way is unremarkable.
Is there a winning Plinko strategy?
There is not. Every drop is independent of the last one, and the 1% house edge is baked into the tables. No amount of switching rows, alternating risk, or doubling after a loss changes the maths. Use the auto drop above and watch your own return settle towards 99% no matter what you do. That is the honest reason this tool exists: you can see it for yourself without spending anything.

Does it behave like the real casino game?

What are the odds of hitting the biggest multiplier?
On a 16-row board the ball has to go the same way all 16 times. That is 1 in 65,536 for one side, or about 1 in 32,768 for either edge. On 8 rows it is roughly 1 in 128. The big number is rare by design, which is the whole point of the high risk table.
Which risk setting pays the most?
None of them. Low, medium and high all return about 99% over the long run. Higher risk moves money from the middle buckets to the edges, so you lose more often but the wins are larger. It changes how bumpy the ride is, not how much comes back.
Do more rows improve your chances?
No. More rows raise the top multiplier but make it proportionally rarer, and they thin out the middle. The return stays at about 99% on every row count. Rows are a style choice.
Can a Plinko strategy beat the house edge?
No. Every drop is independent and the house edge is fixed at 1%. No pattern of risk switching, row switching or bet sizing changes that. Anyone selling a Plinko predictor is selling a scam.
